The aim of this project was to create a new living space after an apocalypse. How could our surroundings possibly be like?
The heart of my project was an inflatable mattress which was integrated in the back part of a coat. For a comfortable use on stony grounds I further added an inflatable pillow in the hood. The coat closes completely around the body and can thus be used as a sleeping bag. In addition, the large hood offers protection from rain, sun and prying eyes. If the coat is not needed, it can easily be folded and used as a kind of bum bag construction. The coat makes it possible to sleep on land and water and offers a safe space in cold winters.
The best part of the project is, however, that the coat could be a very useful tool for homeless people or refugees – especially at times as such.
